Belt / Guitar Strap Sizing

IMG_0810.jpg

Almost everyone gets it completely wrong when measuring to get their belt size. There is only one method to get your accurate size. Take a belt that you currently wear, lay it down as flat and as straight as possible, and measure from the point where the buckle tongue touches the buckle, to the hole that you currently use. That is the measurement that I want, that is your belt size, and that measurement will be the center hole on your new belt. I've included this old diagram to help. Measuring from those two arrows on the diagram will get you your true belt size.

Do not measure from the fold that wraps around the buckle to the tip of the belt. That is not your belt size. The length of the buckle must be taken into account in your measurement, so just follow the diagram.

Generally, belt size is around 2-3 inches larger than your waist size, but even that's leaving too much up to error for my liking. This method here will get you exactly what you need.

--------- Guitar Strap Sizing ---------

Measuring for your â€‹guitar strap length is much easier. If you have a guitar strap with a buckle, set it to the fit that feels best for you, lay down the guitar strap as flat as possible, and measure from the center of the hole on one end, to the center of the hole on the other end. That's it.
