1" Havana Brown English Bridle with 1930s Satin Buckle

1" Havana Brown English Bridle with 1930s Satin Buckle

These buckles come from a very old North and Judd belt buckle lot from an old leather and outdoors clothing company founded in the late 1800s in San Francisco California. Amongst a plethora of buckle styles from the '30s and '40s, there were a handful of older buckles in very early North and Judd boxes that I was told were likely from the late 1920s or early '30s. I've seen a lot of North and Judd Hardware boxes, and those are by far the oldest I've seen. I'd date these as early '30s.

The belt is embossed with an old rope pattern near the edges as is the belt's keeper. This 8/9oz Havana Brown Herman Oak English Bridle hide is fully finished with a smoothed back and hand burnished edges.
